Liberal Fascism on YouTube
I've mentioned a thing or two about the book Liberal Fascism, but last week, Glenn Beck had author Jonah Goldberg on his TV program. I've uploaded the segments to YouTube for public consumption. Goldberg presents an interesting argument, not that liberals are Nazis as many accuse him of saying, but that progressive liberal movements such as those being pushed by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, bear an eerie resemblance to fascist movements in history.
It pays to study your history or else you're doomed to repeat it.

"The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist."
- Winston Churchill, Nov. 21, 1943
hmm... who might be exercising this sort of power? conservi-commies perhaps? good luck fighting totalitarianism with your reading of history.
I'll roll back over in my grave now.
Heh. I wasn't even going to approve this comment because the commenter didn't bother putting in any valid contact information, but this is *so* typical of defenders of the far left. The commenter implies that I should immediately know what he or she is referring to with this comment. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the Bush administration, whom I don't really defend. That being said, if it is the Bush administration this complaint is being aimed at, what have they done that fits the context of the comment?
Is it the detention of suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay? Does US law apply to suspected terrorists detained in a war zone? I don't think so, but I'm not a law scholar. I'm just a US citizen who is advocating for the return of observance and reverence to the US Constitution.
Like Democrats, I am concerned about the dignity and reputation of the United States on the world stage, but for different reasons. In my opinion, the US should be the one loaning money to other countries and setting the standards by which other countries should operate. We did it for at least half of the duration of the existence of the country.
