McCain - Palin 2008

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)

Today, John McCain announced his choice of running mate in the presidential race to be Sarah Palin, current governor of Alaska.

In my opinion, this is the smartest thing McCain could have done, short of bringing Mitt Romney or Ron Paul on board.

Good job John McCain. This brings me significantly closer to actually supporting the guy.

Seriously? You honestly think McCain made a great VP pick? Time to lay off the kool-aid, man.

Stuart, I'm a little bothered by the kool-aid comment. I really haven't heard any kind of rhetoric (AKA kool-aid) about this VP pick because, as you may know, I've been in up past my eyeballs with UTOSC stuff. I've only seen the headlines in passing, really. I would rather McCain had picked someone with proven economic policy background like Romney or a solid Constitutionalist like Paul (but Paul never would have obliged), but I know a little bit about Sarah Palin. She's a tough cookie, very firmly set in her political beliefs and those beliefs are right up my alley. If she can pull a McCain administration policy just a little towards her beliefs, I'd be more inclined to vote McCain. We'll have to see how the campaign shapes up between now and November. As it stands right now, I'm probably still more inclined to vote Libertarian or Constitution party.
