July 24-26
My mom’s parents are from Sanpete County, Utah. My grandmother grew up in Sterling, Utah and my grandfather grew up in Ephraim, Utah. Many of my mom’s cousins and their descendents still live in that area and it has been a long-running tradition to head up to the top of Ephraim Mountain — east of Ephraim — for a family reunion around July 24.
I went to this reunion a few times when I was much younger, but hadn’t been in about 15 years. This year I wanted to go, but, being eight months pregnant, Christine was in no way interested in roughing it at 11,000 feet above sea level for two nights. So, I took Maya with me.
We had a lot of fun and got really dirty.
